Paraguay is a country of South America with no access to the sea and that shares a border with a Argentine, a border with Brazil and a border with Bolivia. A little and beautiful country with rivers (Paraguay, Paranà), lakes and hills. In Paraguay there are some wetlands and also the Gran Chaco a wild region that includes savannas and stretches of bush. In this country there are a large number of natural reserves like the Natural Parks belonging to the State and the protected wild areas belonging to private sector. A wild and uncontaminated nature, the joy of tourist and inhabitants of the country.
The climate of Paraguay is mostly subtropical and in January we can find the average maximum temperature of 36°. Generally, there is a good level of rain falls and the coldest month of July records the average maximum temperature of 26°. Everyone who loves heat enjoys Paraguay: here we can forget the cold, the snow and the ice.
About the language we see that in Asuncion (the capital) Spanish is the first language for 80% of people and Guarany is the second language for the 20% of people. But if we go in rural homes we notice that Guarany is spoken by the 82,5 of people. In any case Spanish is spoken in every town and several inhabitants of the towns as for example Ciudad del Este or Conception can speak English.
If you choose to live in Paraguay you have the possibility to move to a country rich of history and culture and of a magic atmosphere typical of South America. Populated towns as Asuncion, cultural and industrial centre of Paraguay, go against with wild areas or smaller cities as Encarnacion, Horqueta or Fuerte Olimpo.
A word about the population of Paraguay: although many people living in the rural areas are poor, the have a pronounced sense of dignity and are ready to learn to improve their conditions and to find better jobs.
You will find in Paraguay a pleasant mix of customs and traditions and you will learn to appreciate the Paraguayan population and not only its country. Popular tradition as for example music and folk dance are a great part of the life of Paraguayan people. The harp is a popular musical instrument, that was introduced in the country by Jesuits in early 1600 and taught to Guarany population and even now is played and appreciated. In Paraguay folk dance is represented by polka that is a little bit different from European polka and by the dance of Guarania, a dance invented in 1925 that is a sweet and nostalgic version of the polka but in a minor key.
In short: Paraguay is a beautiful land with a pleasant climate and a beautiful and wild nature, with interesting town rich of history and culture and with a smart and willing population having a pleasant mix of customs and tradition, but why you should live in Paraguay? Why you should apply for a permanent residence in Paraguay?
Let’s speak of more serious and convincing arguments: Paraguay is a paradise whether you are young or you are old. Why? It is easy to say: if you decide to live in Paraguay with a transfer of residence you can free your life fromtaxes forever!
Paraguay is a country with a territorial taxation and this offers a great opportunity for the international entrepreneurs. The territorial taxation is different from worldwide taxation, because it taxes its own residents only on the income generated from local sources. This simply means that if you reside in Paraguay and sell abroad you do not pay taxes. You pay taxes only if you sell goods or services on Paraguayan territory.
You realize how this possibility may be useful for you! For example if you are a vendor or a consultant you can settle in Asuncion, the capital of Paraguay and so you do not pay an euro of taxes. Of course you can choose this opportunity if you are a serious business. If you owe a little fruit and vegetables’ shop or a little bakery maybe it is not worth for you, but if you manage a serious business this opportunity can really change your life.
Paraguay is a real tax haven if we compare it with European countries, …as a matter of fact in Paraguay the personal income tax is 10%, basically you can compare Paraguay to Bulgaria or other Balkan States.
This personal income tax is truly unique in today’s world. If we do not consider some little islands or the Principality of Monaco, we can safely that there are not such low taxes.
But in Paraguay many other surprises are waiting for you: as a matter of fact Paraguay has a territorial taxation, a personal income tax of 10%, but also a VAT of 10%. (In Europe the average VAT is about 20% except in France).
So you understand that all these factors make Paraguay the most affordable country to live in. If you can afford to move so far from your country and live in South America, because you can manage your client from abroad and remotely, this is really a great opportunity. If you love South America stop wasting your time because now there are the best conditions to live in Paraguay.
This country is mostly quiet with less delinquent behaviours than in Venezuela, Brazil or Mexico. If you are going to move to Paraguat you can also buy an house and in case you should resell it the tax on the capital gain for residents is 10% and not more. But if you are not resident is better for you to rent a house, because if you decide to sell it you have to pay taxes from 30% to 50%. In this way not resident people are discouraged to trade properties and turn Paraguay into an housing emergency.
Another important factor to decide to live in Paraguay is the cost of living. It is really low: food, rent, clothing are very cheap and European and US people will have a great surprise!
For example if you buy an house in the centre of Asuncion, you will pay it no more than 500 euros per square meter. It means you will have higher living standards if you live in Paraguay and you earn a Italian salary. Furthermore you can also set up an office with local personnel.
If you are going to move with you family, Paraguay is full of European schools and many families with European roots live there.
Paraguay is a very interesting opportunity to live in for young people but also a very good opportunity for pensioners. In Paraguay their pension is worth much more and they can enjoy life after a lifetime of work.
Paraguay has a wonderful nature and very beautiful landscapes with rivers, lakes, hills and plains but no access to the sea. We can only say that the beauty of this country does not need the sea and that everyone who goes to Paraguay feels in love with this beautiful land and many people decide to move in and begin a new life in Paraguay.
