On Thursday February 11 CONATEL (the National Telecommunication Commission), MITIC, (the paraguayabn Ministry of Technology, Information and Communication) and the Mobile Operator TIGO opened the first of the ten Telecentres for the population, which well be subsequently installed throughout the country. The first Telecentre was made in Asunción, in the district Sajonia, in Plaza Carlos Antonio López.
But what is a Telecentre? A Telecentre is a space for participation and training for all citizens where a stable access to the internet is guaranteed, also and above all for legal sector.
In addition, people can have an access to Information and Telecommunication Technology. Telecentres help Paraguayan citizens to use the new digital technologies. .
So, from now on, all interested people may visit the Telecentre from Monday to Saturday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. and so they can enter in the world of technology, manage their Electronic Identity Card, access to their own electronic judicial file, request all types of legal documents, check their own documentation and use all the services on the Government site: www.paraguay.gov.py
Among all the services offered, people can get their criminal record and their vaccination certificates.
The collaboration between MITIC and CONATEL allowed a 360-degree use of all computer and information technologies and put at disposal digital technology to all lawyers and to the entire population. All this will save a lot of time and many resources.
At the opening of the first Telecentre, there were the Minister of MITIC, the President of CONATEL, the President of the Supreme Court of Justice and a representative of TIGO.
A Telecentre is a container equipped with absolutely modern infrastructure and put at disposal 1 notebook for trainer, 7 notebook for users, a free internet access, a radio coverage of about 50 meters, lighting, air conditioning and a ramp to facilitate access to people with disabilities.
Please, note that all the services offered by Telecentres are entirely free and are included in the social obligations provided for in the 4G broadband public contract of CONATEL, as well as in a state policy scheduled to contribute to the complete digital transformation of Paraguay.
