After years of experience in the field, we LIP advisors have seen that many clients after obtaining residence in Paraguay, the Paraguayan biometric Identity Card and the Driving Licence, ask us to open a bank account to be able to credit their salary or their pension or to make investment in Paraguay.
We have no problem to accept their request.
But, for transparency and fairness towards our customers, we must point out that to open a bank account in Paraguay is very difficult. It is a service we LIP advisors have always carried out, but we are currently doing it only for those who expressly request it at the time when the consultation with LIP begins, that is upon signing of their contract.
This because we advisors must prepare ourselves months before, since with the new Immigration Law we need to organize all contacts and procedure with the Banks in advance and then open the bank account of our clients smoothly.
Our long experience led us to open hundred of bank accounts, so we know very well Paraguayan bureaucracy and all the procedures to be able to proceed quickly, but always in full compliance with the law and of the regulations in force.
Always for transparency we want to point out to all those who want to open a bank account in Paraguay, that this procedure is expensive and requires to be prepared well in advance, as we have just explained.
In this regards LIP has recently revised its entire policy on the opening of bank accounts, because we LIP advisors must prepare all the requested documents several months in advance.
As a matter of fact, all the procedures must be completed BEFORE our client receives his Paraguayan biometric Identity Card, that he needs to open his bank account.
When his/her bank account is actually opened there are no more problems and our client can start to use it for all his needs.

So no problem for us to open bank accounts for our clients. But they must decide it in advance and tell us when they sign our contract, so we can begin all the necessary procedures.
