It’s time to move!

17/12/2018 By admin

The journalist Enza Petruzziello wrote for “Cambiare vita” this interesting guide to move and to live in Paraguay. As a matter of fact, this South American country is emerging as an excellent alternative for people interested to work, to invest or to retire, thanks to the low cost of life, a favourable taxation and some policies introduced by Paraguayan Government to promote foreign investments. Therefore, let’s see what are the advantages, while for further information, please see the site of Living In Paraguay.

Portugal, Spain, England, the timeless United States, somewhere exotic. When we think of a destination, where we can begin a new life, these are the first countries coming to our mind.

But there is a “little nation”, that is living a great deal of political and social turmoil and that not a lot of people talk about. In any case, we are certain that in future this nation will represent a real promised land for many young people in search of work, for business men eager to invest in fiscally more advantageous places and for pensioners in search of a buen retiro. After all, partly it already is.

We are talking about Paraguay, a State of South America, and a new paradise for those who are thinking to change their life and to move abroad.

Among the most happiest countries in the world, according to the charts, Paraguay is in a strategic geographical position: in the north it borders Bolivia, in the east Brazil and in the south and the west Argentine. Even though it is not surrounded by the sea, Paraguay has many beautiful landscapes and a booming trade.

Moving to Paraguay

Paraguayan people, who are famous for their smiles,  their warm welcome and for their life, that is really peaceful, know it well. Even tourists, who had the opportunity to visit it, know it.

Paraguay impresses for its wonderful nature: rivers, lakes, plans and its famous Amazon Forest. Its cities are lively and modern, but they keep the typical atmosphere of the south American metropolis.

Paraguay is a country rich in history and you can easily find museums, palaces or historical houses of first-class architecture as beautiful as modern buildings. The National Pantheon of Heroes, Palacio de los Lopez, Clay Museum, Ramón Elias Mythical Museum, South American Football Museum. These are just some of its most evocative buildings, and inside of them you can admire an important part of the origins of this noble nation.

But why should you decide to drop everything and move to Paraguay? Many are the reasons. First of all for the quality of life, that allows you to relax and live peacefully. And then for the low costs of rents, food and consumer goods. As a matter of fact in Asunción, the capital of Paraguay, the monthly average expenses amount to 360 US dollars, and to rent an apartments costs about 250 US dollars per month.

Modern infrastructures, a developing country, a lean bureaucracy as regards immigration and investments and a mild climate all year long then do the rest. In addition: an efficient health system and a low rate of crime.

In short, no wonder if our many countrymen have already chosen Paraguay as their new destination. As a matter of fact, to this day there are about 100 000 paraguayan people of Italian origin and in total there are about 300 000 people, who have at least a great-grandfather with clear Italian origins. Currently, the Italian-Paraguayan community has several organization in the capital of the country.

The majority of our countrymen residing in Paraguay are pensioners, especially attracted by a lower cost of living if compared to the Italian one and by paraguayan favourable taxation. Two aspects that allow the “over 65” to spend peacefully their retirement years and to save a lot of money.

The cost of food, rents, clothing and transport are on average 50% lower than the ones of Rome and therefore your quality of life is certainly higher for those who have a pension not very high and  decide to move and to live in Paraguay.

Also the opportunity to pay less taxes becomes a very strong incentive for those who want to move here. A favourable taxation, that of course also tempt many businessmen and investors, who see in this South American country a land of opportunity to relocate their companies or to start new companies.

As a matter of fact, Paraguay has the most advantageous taxation system of the whole South America, a stable currency and economy and an excellent Government. Without forgetting the territorial taxation thorough which its own residents are taxed only on incomes produced by national sources.

Therefore, if you are a resident and sell abroad, you do not pay taxes. And think about it: to obtain your permanent residence to live in Paraguay you need only six months. Once obtained it, you can benefit from a tax reduction. With your new Paraguayan identity card you can move and invest in all other States of South America.

Are you still thinking about it? We recommend you to book now a beautiful journey to this wonderful land to test personally how you live there and decide if really it is worth settling permanently in Paraguay.
