The bureaucracy in Paraguay

18/04/2021 By admin

It is true that a street seems to be longer, if we are not familiar with it, isn’t it? That’s because we cannot predict neither advancing nor destination. Well, the same happens with bureaucracy

Just like most people, bureaucracy may be boring for us or difficult to understand. I do not know any children who like to fill out forms and neither any adult who likes to fill out forms to have fun.    In addition, when a person with no experience goes to any public office in the world,  any administration could make us lose our head, because we do not have another copy, because, we cannot predict later procedures, and we cannot predict them etc…

Well, when we talk about Paraguay, the issue changes.  Just like the entire continent, this country historically was formed by combining indigenous  population and people’s migrations. For this reason  official languages are both Spanish (Castillan), of European origin and guaraní an indigenous language, that is also present in three other countries (Argentine, Bolivia y Brazil).

That’s the reason  why  the document required for migrations are much simpler and faster than any other country in the world. Waiting time is short, the management of files takes little time and with the assistance of Living in Paraguay, they are even simpler, because we are committed to perform all the steps and, as we already know them, we previously perform all the necessary procedures and when we finish all the face-to-face procedures, we take charge of any following, planned or unexpected commission, (for example, copies to be delivered etc), so our client does not waste his time.

The Paraguayan State asks something simple and understandable, for example to check with the local Interpol office,  that we are not internationally wanted by the police or even we are criminally wanted in other countries, or to check with the Treasury that we can support ourselves economically. It is logical that the country is not going to welcome neither wanted criminals nor people who cannot support themselves economically.

The officials, during the various and necessary stages to manage your apply for permanent residence or your Paraguayan citizenship are always professional and polite.  You see that they are inclined to help people and do whatever they can and, of course, they strictly apply all the necessary measures to prevent Covid-19:  glass panels at desks, continuous disinfection, access allowed only after washing your hands, measurement of temperature etc…

For all these reasons, although no bureaucratic procedure is amusing, with the services offered by Paraguayan State and with the help of LIP, the procedures to obtain your permanent residence or your Paraguayan citizenship are much more pleasant, secure and faster.
